I wasn't able to attend the meetings with Pastors Lee and Vistine, so I have no comment about that. I especially am touched by what Monica said. When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom. God initiated His habitation with us because of His great love and grace. I tend to strive and flail around to make myself worthy, when all along my Father has abundant grace and desires to habitate with me. The flip side of that, though, is that I must also desire Him as my first Love, and seek Him above all else. Habitation to me is loving and seeking HIM above all else, living out that love for Him in all I do, and allowing Him to live in me.

So...does anyone want to "talk about" our pulpit guests from this past Thursday and Friday? Pastors Eddie Lee from El Paso and David Vistine from El Paso were with us...and I thought they were encouraging. I particularly enjoyed hearing these seasoned men who stayed in one place long enough to see a harvest, and I appreciated their transparency. Anyone pick up something new, or challenging?

Because He dwells in us, we can always and forever sit at His feet, bask in His Glory, and dwell in His presence! And in His Wisdom, He calls us together as the Body of Christ to fellowship with one another as He draws us together in His Spirit of Unity. Looking forward to being with you all. Thank you, pastors, for your leadership!

P.S. Where is the live-streaming video of the Pastor's office?!

Defined in Webster's Dictionary, Habitation is a place of residence; dwelling; abode, the act of inhabiting; occupancy by inhabitants. It's so much more than that though. Habitation isn't just something for God to do in us, but also for us to do in Him. We have to take a place of residence in him, we must dwell in him. The Light of the Father should shine so heavily in us that we draw others to him without even thinking about it. What is "super natural" should become "natural" to us. Just as any relationship it's not a one way thing. If we get close to Him he will in turn get close to us. Habitation takes place in both, once we make the decision to reside in Him that is the first thing we should be looking for, to get close to Him, He will truly get close to you. If we truly want the Spirit so deeply in us it takes us doing the homework so to speak we must find refuge in Him throughout the ups and the downs. Pastor Robert had a sermon on how when we are suffering that is when we get closer to God, but why does it take us suffering to get us to realize we have nothing without Him but with Him even in our lowest times we have everything? If we willingly make the decision now, or when things are good to take a place of refuge, a place of dwelling in Him, how much closer can you get to Him? It shouldn't take us getting lost to truly find Him. If we want God to have a place have Habitation in us, we first have to find a place of Habitation in Him. He will only draw close to us after we make the first move. The cards are in our hands but if we learn now to let go and have God play the hand for us, the one that knows us inside and out, knows our deepest wants, imagine how great and mighty His plans are, things would work out so much better. His plans oversee and out do anything we can come close to imagining. You have to find out who you are in Christ and then turn to Him and say, "Okay God, I know I can do nothing without you but with you anything is possible". Once you do that, take refuge in Him, He will truly reside in you even when you think He is know where to be found. He is always with us. He never leaves us and He will never fail. To me, I truly believe for God to have a place of habitation in me, I first must find a place of Habitation in Him and let Him do with me as He pleases and He sees fit. At camp Bre showed us who we are in Christ. I am the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22), I am deeply loved by God (1 John 4:9), I was made complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). Find out who you are in Christ and you will begin to see Christ in you in every way imaginable. God is the habitation of his people, who find rest and safety in him (Psalms. 71:3; 91:9).

dudley hall has a teaching called " living with the live in God" i think that God has plainly and clearly said that He desires a people to call His own. He wants to abide and make His abode with us! when the veil was torn, it was from the top down! He wasn't only wanting people to come in but He wanted out! i think that when God inhabits a person or place that He is able to freely express Himself any way He desires. His Kingdom has free rein. Jesus constantly and consistantly lived His life to please only One. Jesus showed mercy and did many mighty works, He also drove out the money changers and knew when to speak and when not to. He knew when to command and when to pray. He always had the upper hand and the wisdom to deal with what ever came His way. When God makes His abode with men( habitation), it will be clear to the world that we are mere humans but that we serve and are totally comitted to " another King"!

Wow, Sandra! What more could be said? Is not this beginning place in the "Be Attitudes" that of our recognizing our spiritual bankruptcy, and -- in a kind of spirit of desperation -- calling upon Him? Is Habitation something evident to Him, when these inward attitudes no long are goals we are striving after, but an increasingly natural reflection of His Spirit? That's certainly what I want. I keep using the words - that our goal (my goal!) is to "feel, think, talk, and act" (nothing anything omitted here, I trust?) toward people and circumstances in a manner that pleases Him. I look forward to the day that such things are natural, neither contrived or the result of personal effort. Besides, at the end of the day, none of us can make ourselves be righteous...we have no righteousness, except Him! If He doesn't do it in us, it's not going to happen.

I agree that sometimes God is right in front of us - but we don't know it. That was true for Balaam, an unfaithful servant, but it was also true for Moses. God had to tell Moses he was on holy ground. Moses didn't immediately know it. Personally, I imagine myself to be living with the Presence of God...but what disturbs me (about me) is that sometimes I'm the one that T-shirt is talking about! Sometimes there are people standing right in front of us...but I don't seen them...because of my preoccupation with something else. For me, the relentless demand of the things to do eclipses the opportunity in front of me. Surely the "todo" list we each carry is important...but how does Habitation figure into that?

Habitation is a reality that can exist in me (and has a corporate component) by the power of the Holy Spirit creating a residence for the abiding, manifest presence of God that does not depart. It is contingent on me meeting certain necessary conditions. Yet my meeting these find all of their entrance and dependence on faith in the Lord:
- I have received Jesus as my Lord and Savior and am privileged to become a child of God (Jn 1:12)
- I recognize I am saved not because of my choice, but because He IS! (Jn 1:13)
- I realize on my own I am nothing and can do nothing (Jn 15:5)
- the work of the cross is continually being applied in my life by the Holy Spirit (2Cor 5:14-15)
- I am filled by the Holy Spirit and live and move and have my being increasingly in Him (Acts 17:28)
- I choose to be obedient and arranged to defer in obedience (Jn 14:21)
- Increasingly, it is no longer I who live, but Christ Who lives in me (Gal 2:20)
- I die daily (Rom 6:5-7)
- My diet is the Lord and His Word (Jn 6:53-57, 2Cor 3:18)
- His victory is overcoming in me, even my faith, and so I overcome (1Jn 4:17, 1Jn 5:4-5)
- I decrease and He increases (Mt 11:12)
- In Him, I become an instrument of His power, an implement of righteousness in His Hand in obedience for greater works that enforce His Word upon the earth (2Chr 6:9, Mark 16:17-18, Rom 6:13, Jn 9:4, Jn 14:12)
- His Love Arises here... and the whole "earth" is filled with His Glory (Is 60:1, Hab 2:14, 1Cor 13:10, Jn 17:23)
May we enter and abide here! The Word is a door! Amen
- my greatest desire is to know Him (Phil 3:10)
